The Company
Aspire CoffeeWorks is a social enterprise coffee company founded in 2009 through a partnership between Aspire and Metropolis Coffee Company.
Aspire is a leading 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to expanding access, opportunity and support for people with disabilities. Metropolis is one of the Midwest’s most respected family owned and operated craft coffee roasters. Together, we set out to prove that exceptional coffee and meaningful employment belong together.
At Aspire CoffeeWorks, adults with disabilities work at Metropolis’ roasterie to label, pack, and ship premium coffee that is sourced and roasted by Metropolis. Our team members bring skill, pride, and purpose to their work every week.
And just as importantly, 100% of Aspire CoffeeWorks’ net proceeds support Aspire’s programs and services for people with disabilities.

The Coffee
Aspire CoffeeWorks proudly offers nationally recognized, hand-roasted coffee crafted by our partners at Metropolis Coffee Company in Chicago.
A family-owned and operated business for more than 20 years, Metropolis has been named Micro-Roaster of the Year by Roast Magazine and recognized by Saveur as one of America’s top coffees. Using vintage roasting equipment, their expert roasters carefully develop the flavor of every batch.
All Aspire CoffeeWorks coffees are:
- Roasted fresh, with the roast date clearly marked
- Fair Trade certified
- Responsibly sourced for quality and sustainability
- Hand-labeled or packaged by a team member with disabilities and signed as a personal stamp of approval
- Roasted and packed in an SQF-certified facility
