We brought the coffee—and the community showed up!
For the second year in a row, Aspire CoffeeWorks partnered with Bank of America for a powerful event focused on inclusion and connection. Last year, we welcomed 70 attendees to our Lunch & Learn in conjunction with Bank of America’s Disability Action Network. This year? Over 100!
New faces, same mission.
Among the highlights was hearing from leaders and team members who continue to champion this partnership.
Kelly Taira, Managing Director at Bank of America and Aspire Board Member, shared his unique perspective on the importance of giving back. June Cimino, Market Executive, Vice President at Bank of America, emphasized the importance of supporting inclusive brands. Aspire’s CEO Serena Alaily spoke on our mission to reimagine what’s possible for people with disabilities. Katie Welge Filippini shared how Aspire CoffeeWorks creates real opportunities through employment, purpose, and community. Aspire CoffeeWorks team members Marcus, Alicia, and Ben, proudly shared about their roles—from packaging to order fulfillment—and what being part of the team means to them.

The event and messages shared resonated deeply with members of Bank of America’s Disability Action Network (DAN). As one attendee put it:
“Knowing my daily cup supports people with disabilities makes it so much more meaningful.”
Another added:
“Bank of America’s commitment to inclusion shines through partnerships like this. It’s what makes this a great place to work.”
Aliana, DAN Chicago member expressed her thoughts on the lunch and learn:
“These partnerships matter. When Bank of America serves Aspire CoffeeWorks coffee, they’re not only choosing a quality product—they’re investing in a movement.”

A special shoutout to Grace.
Grace, employed at Bank of America Chicago through Canteen Refreshment Services, played a big role in making the event happen. Her story is a powerful reminder of what inclusive employment can look like when partners come together.
Thank you to everyone at Bank of America for helping brew a more inclusive future—one cup at a time.
